informal To live as a vagrant. "Swag" is an Australian word for a pack containing a vagrant's belongings. Primarily heard in Australia, New Zealand. You haven't saved up any money? If you lose this job, you'll end up going on the swag! If the stock market crashes, will we have to go on the swag? I know my parents would never let me go on the swag, but I don't want to be dependent on them either.
