To applaud someone, often as a show of approval or appreciation. Usually used as an imperative. Let's give it up for all of our performers! What a wonderful job they've done here tonight! Fantastic job, Jenn. Can we give it up for Jenn, everyone? Let's give it up for our fine opening act, The Dancing Dillard Sisters!
