give ear to (someone or something)

To listen carefully or pay close attention to someone or something; to give ample or due consideration to someone or something. I want to assure you that city council is giving ear to all residents who want to lodge complaints. Give ear to what I'm telling you, because it may prove more important than you realize in the future. If you really do want to improve the school, then you need to give ear to the students' complaints.
