To reach the most important or crucial part of something at once. I don't have much time, so please get straight to the point of your story. A: "Do you have any idea what Lisa's rambling about?" B: "Nope. That girl can never just get straight to the point." If you only have five minutes with the CEO, then you better get straight to the point of your pitch.
