1. To become very angry or upset. Hearing her talk about you like that just got me really steamed up. Mom sure got steamed up after I dented her brand-new car. Oh yes, the boss got steamed up when he heard we lost that important client.
2. To become heavily intoxicated. Please don't get too steamed up when you're out with John tonight. Do you remember last night at the pub at all? You really got steamed up! Once he started drinking whiskey, that's when he really got steamed up.
