get out the vote
get out the vote
To prompt the people in a population to vote in an election, especially for a particular candidate or issue. We know that public sentiment is on our side, but the only way we're going to get this referendum passed is by getting out the vote. The presidential candidate has put a huge amount of resources into getting out the vote among younger demographics. It's really important to get out the vote because the candidates are so evenly matched.
