vulgar slang To have sexual intercourse with someone. Teenagers are under a huge amount of pressure from their peers to get it off with someone before they feel ready or really want to. Well, she didn't come home last night, so I bet she got it off with that cute guy at the bar. A: "I think Katie got it off with Brad after the party." B: "Well, they did spend the whole night flirting!"

1. To be acquitted of or escape punishment for some crime by incurring a lesser sentence or punishment instead. Despite damning video evidence, the suspect got off with a misdemeanor, serving no time in jail. The wealthy actress got off with just a $3,000 fine. Wow, I did not expect that creep to get off with a not guilty verdict.
2. To cause or allow someone to be acquitted of or escape punishment for a crime by having them incur a lesser sentence or punishment instead. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is used between "get" and "off." Everyone thought the CEO was heading to jail, but his slick lawyer got him off with a small fine and six weeks of probation. Thankfully, my attorney was able to get me off with rehab. If there was a problem with how the evidence was collected, does that mean you guys can get me off with a mistrial?
