get in(to) time (with someone or something)

To begin following or maintaining the proper rhythm (along with someone or something). Come on, man, you need to get into time with the bass and drums. Wow, how do all those troops get in time with each other? I've never seen someone so uncoordinated! That guy couldn't get into time with the music if he tried.
