To become worried, anxious, or agitated about something. Mom is getting in a real stew about all of our relatives suddenly deciding to come visit us three days from now. Try not to get in a stew about the trip, all right? Everything will be fine. A: "Is Hailey OK?" B: "She'll be fine once we land in Miami, but she always gets into a stew about flying."
