To become burdened or impeded by something. (A bog is an area of wet, muddy land that is difficult to walk through.) Try not to get bogged down in minute details for this project—we're looking for speed more than accuracy. It's so easy to get bogged down in the technical jargon they use on these support sites. I wish they would just write in plain English! No, you can't let yourself get bogged down in the dramas of your dysfunctional family.
