1. To move physically past something. Our cell phone coverage should improve once we get beyond the mountains. Don't worry, you'll see the store once you get beyond that hill. Hey, Mom told us not to get beyond that buoy. Come on, we have to turn around.
2. To rectify some problem or situation. I finally feel less stressed now that I've gotten beyond those financial issues. I think Grandpa will be much less irritable once he's gotten beyond this illness. I can't wait to get beyond exams—I'm so sick of studying!
