To receive grief or frustration from someone else in the form of teasing, bullying, or other ill treatment. Mom, quit nagging him. He'll stop coming home from college on the weekends if he thinks he's gonna get a hard time about every little thing. New kids always seem to get a hard time from bullies at this school. I always get a hard time from my brother about the gangly way I run, but I think he's just jealous—l'm a way better athlete than he is.
