gaffle (someone or something)
1. To steal or seize something. Hey man, don't just gaffle my headphones—ask me if you want to use them. I heard she got arrested for gaffling a lipstick from the corner store. Is that my new sweater? Ugh, why do you always gaffle my clothes?
2. To apprehend someone. After trying to gaffle these guys for months, we were finally able to bring them into the station tonight. Police were able to gaffle the suspect after he fled down one of the neighborhood's back alleys. The police will gaffle all of us if they catch us drinking—we are underage, you know.
