slang Apt to drink alcohol, especially to an excessive or habitual degree. Sure, I used to be fond of a drop, but then I went to rehab. My husband was fond of a drop when he was younger—a real party animal. I'm glad he's grown out of that. I hate being hungover, so I've never been terribly fond of a drop.
