flow away from (someone or something)

To move away from someone or something in a smooth, fluid manner, as of a liquid. At low tide, the sea flowed away from the sand. A: "I'm sick of coming home to water in the basement after every storm." B: "Well, we probably need to get the rainwater to flow away from the basement door." Can you reposition the air conditioner? All the cool air is flowing away from me!
