flit from person to person

To move quickly from one person to another. That guy's a politician, so he's just spent the whole night flitting from person to person, naturally. I know I should be networking, but the idea of flitting from person to person in a room full of strangers makes me nauseous. I know you're hoping to meet someone here at the bar, but don't fixate on just one guy—flit from person to person. It gives you better odds of success!
