flip on

To turn something on, typically a switch. A noun or pronoun can be used between "flip" and "on." As soon as I flipped on the light, I could see that the house had been robbed. You're closer to the remote—can you flip on the TV? I'm trying to flip on the lamp, but I can't see where the switch is.
