flat-hatting

flat-hat

To fly an airplane dangerously close to the ground. Would you please stop flat-hatting? We're going to crash! Do not get into a plane with that guy—he's a daredevil who's apt to flat-hat and almost crash the whole thing. I'm pretty sure the pilot flat-hatted shortly before the crash.
