1. noun The act of touching the knuckle side of one's clenched fist with someone else's, either as a greeting or in a cheerful or celebratory manner. Also known as a "pound." He was so excited by the team's overtime win that he gave everyone fist bumps as we left the stadium. "So good to see you, buddy!" Dan exclaimed as he gave me a fist bump. Oh my gosh, I just gave my favorite player a fist bump for good luck as he was coming off the ice!
2. verb To touch one's clenched fist with someone else's in such a manner. He was so excited by the team's overtime win that he was fist bumping everyone as we left the stadium. I'm sorry, don't mind my kids—they just think fist-bumping is the ideal greeting right now. Oh no, once Steve gets a few drinks in him, is he one of those guys who needs to fist bump everyone in the bar?
