A person who is ridiculed or not taken seriously. Jesse became tired of being treated like a figure of fun so he changed his demeanor to be taken more seriously. Right, like that figure of fun will be able to get a whole department to listen to him. Your students don't do their homework because they see you as a figure of fun.
