A "fiddlestick" is a bow used in playing a fiddle.
1. childish An expression of annoyance, frustration, or impatience. A: "Got any twos?" B: "Go fish." A: "Oh, fiddlesticks!" The bumper cars are closed already? Fiddlesticks! A: "I have to sit this round out? Aw, fiddlesticks." B: "Don't worry, you'll get to play in the next one."
2. An expression used when the speaker thinks that something is nonsense. Fiddlesticks! I didn't go through your things, and you know it! Fiddlesticks. There's no way you got a better grade than me! What? Fiddlesticks! Mom, he's lying—I had nothing to do with this!
