1. To persuade someone to yield something or convince them not to do something by speaking in a fervent, facile, and (usually) manipulative or deceptive manner. Those salesmen are always trying to fast-talk people out of their hard-earned money. Hey, don't let anyone fast-talk you out of your rights to royalties from this project. Mom, you know that all of Rich's so-called "businesses" fail, so don't let him fast talk you out of your money again.

2. To convince someone not to do something by speaking to them in such a manner. How were you able to fast-talk him out of signing all of his assets over to his wife? Thank goodness you fast-talked him out of that horrible contract. He would have made only pennies on sales of a product he invented! I'm trying to fast-talk them out of eloping to Vegas, but they don't want to hear a discouraging word!
