To collapse inward onto someone or something. The weight of all that snow caused the roof to fall in on us. I knew that years of water damage would eventually be a problem—I just didn't expect the ceiling to fall in on our Thanksgiving dinner! Come on, we need to get the kids out of the house before the roof falls in on them!
