fall down on (someone or something)

To literally drop onto someone or something from some height. Unfortunately, a pile of snow fell down on Susan when she opened the door. When he crawled under the Christmas tree to water it, various ornaments fell down on his head. A: "Something just fell down on my head!" B: "Yeah, a leaf. Relax."
