slang Soft but pleasant or enjoyable pop music. That café plays some nice ear candy as background music—you'll enjoy it. I can't listen to that ear candy while I do my homework—it makes me sleepy! I just want some nice, light ear candy to play during the cocktail hour.

ear candy

n. soft and pleasant popular music; music that is sweet to the ear. (see also elevator music.) I find that kind of ear candy more annoying than heavy metal.
