A bet in horse racing, in which the bettor wins money if their chosen horse comes in first, second, or third place. Primarily heard in UK. Give me an each way—that pony's got to finish in the top three. Why would you get an each way for that horse? He's never finished above fifth place! Woo hoo! I got an each way on that horse and he finished in second place!
