Don't ruin an entertaining or interesting story by insisting that every part of it be completely accurate or factual. A: "Sure, that's hilarious, but that's not actually what he said." B: "Oh come on, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story!" A: "There's no way Mom was there and just let a food fight happen." B: "Shh, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story." A: "It was the best skateboard jump of my life, and I landed it cleanly." B: "Ah, so he's taking a 'don't let the facts get in the way of a good story' approach."
