disdain to (do something)

To refuse to do something, especially because one deems it unimportant or unnecessary. I'm not surprised he didn't respond to your question. Politicians always disdain to engage with issues that could lose them votes on election day. Typical lawyer—he disdains to do anything he can't bill you for. Of course he disdains to eat vegetables—he's a kid!
