die from (something)
die from (something)
To die as a result of something. This phrase can be used literally or figuratively. Is it true that Mr. Thomas died from lung cancer? When my girlfriend dumped me, I thought I would die from a broken heart. I know she's itchy and miserable, but at least kids don't typically die from chicken pox.
