nautical Going as slowly as possible while still having enough speed to maneuver the vessel. During peak hours, motorboats are only allowed to go dead slow through the harbor in order to avoid the many swimmers. Whoa, this part of the lake is pretty congested. We need to go dead slow through here. I'm pretty cautious when I take my boat out, so I tend to go dead slow whenever a collision would be remotely possible.
