To return to one in a dejected or humbled fashion. Maybe if you went crawling back to your boss, you could get your job back. This isn't the first time he's had an affair and then crawled back to his wife. I just don't understand why she keeps forgiving him. I promised myself that I would never crawl back to that two-bit town, no matter what the future might bring.
