1. rude slang An unsophisticated person from a rural area of the Southern US. Congressional candidates from the big city tend to overlook the cornbread out in the boonies. I can't believe there's cornbread like you who's never been to a big city. Look, you can't act like cornbread and take your shoes off in the middle of a fancy restaurant this time!
2. slang Something that is deemed dated or trite. Once John started getting into jazz, he couldn't stand what he called "Big Band cornbread" anymore. Well, if all of his jokes are cornbread, no wonder the audience isn't laughing! It's honestly painful when Mom makes us watch this '60s cornbread from her childhood.
