To maintain the action that one has been doing. After that unexplained crash in the hallway, the professor had a hard time continuing with his lecture. The smoke alarm went off at the worst possible time because I couldn't continue with my very important call to the CEO. Continue with what you're doing there, I just came in to borrow a pen. Don't mind me.
