Describing something, such as a book or film, that focuses on a character's maturation to adulthood. Her coming-of-age novel focuses on a child born into poverty who goes on to be a Harvard graduate. I may be 30 years old, but I still love Young Adult books. I'm a sucker for a good coming-of-age story. It's a coming-of-age film about a teen boy who must deal with the sudden death of his mother.
