3. Subjected to severe criticism (for something). A: "As predicted, I got clobbered by the boss for losing that big account." B: "I know, I could hear him yelling from all the way over here." No, you can't tell Mom and Dad I snuck out last night—I'll get clobbered! Aw man, we'll be clobbered by Coach if he finds out we were involved with that stupid prank.
4. Subjected to particularly burdensome or unfair treatment. We moved because we were sick of being clobbered by the ever-rising property taxes around here. The whole country has been clobbered by inflation for the past six months. Get ready to be clobbered with fees when you buy those concert tickets online.
5. slang Drunk. Do you remember last night at the bar at all? You were really clobbered! Well, I must have been clobbered if I got up and did karaoke at the bar! Help him get home, will ya? He started drinking whiskey, and now he's clobbered.
