clear (someone or something) out of (some place)

1. To remove something from a space or area. We need to clear some of this junk out of the garage so that I can actually put my car in it! I cleared a ton of old notes out my desk today. Would you please clear any clothes that no longer fit out of the closet? We could really use the extra room.
2. To impel or force someone or something to leave a place. If we call the cops, they'll clear everyone out of that raucous house party immediately. Because the car backfire sounded like a gunshot, it cleared out the park in a matter of seconds. Don't worry, the police are here now, and they'll clear these hooligans out of the store.
