change to

change to

1. To convert something to a different form or method. A noun or pronoun can be used between "change" and "to." How much do you think it will cost to change our heating system to gas? Well, I'm not a skilled enough mechanic to change your car to a manual transmission, if that's what you're after. I bet you'd get more money for your house if you changed from oil to gas before selling it.
2. To switch to something. I've saved a lot of money since changing to generic. I feel so much better since changing to a gluten-free diet. I tried to change to decaf coffee once, and I was never more tired in my life!
