To swap or exchange something with someone. I changed places with my aunt so that I could talk to the people at the other end of the table. I recently changed roles with Tina at the office, and it's actually working out really well. A: "Wait, what are you doing here?" B: "Oh, I changed offices with Carrie so that she could sit with the rest of the employment team."
