burn (one) out of (something)

To force someone to leave a place by setting it on fire. During their attack, the troops burned everyone out of the town. My grandfather moved in with us after a four-alarm fire burned him out of his house. Do the police have any leads? What kind of unhinged person would burn an old lady out of her home?
