burn for (someone or something)

To deeply want, desire, or long for someone or something. I think Frank still burns for Lana, even though they broke up years ago. My kids are all burning for that toy, but unfortunately it's sold out everywhere. You're going to face a lot of rejection as an actor, so you have to burn for success.

to desire someone or something very much. Jim said he was burning for Sally. I was just burning for another look at her.
