To cause something to move within the distance that one's gunfire can reach. Once our calls brought several turkeys within range, we readied our guns. It's dangerous up ahead. If you proceed, I really think you'll bring the convoy within range of enemy fire. There's no way I'm hitting that. Come on, at least bring the target within range!
