dated slang To eject or expel one from some group or organization, especially the military. "Bowler hat" is sometimes hyphenated. Usually used in passive constructions. Primarily heard in UK, Australia. He was bowler-hatted out of the RAF for leaking confidential information to the press. Listen, pal, you're lucky I'm so understanding. Another supervisor would bowler hat you out of here for that back talk! He was such a rebellious kid that I assumed they'd bowler hat him out of the military, but no, he's really turned things around for himself.
