board with (someone)

To live with someone in a place other than one's home temporarily. My son will board with my parents while I travel for work. I always hated leaving Fluffy with strangers when I would go on vacation, so I've boarded her with my best friend this time. We can't travel for six weeks and pull the kids out of school! They'd have to stay here and board with one of our family members, which is a huge ask.

to live with someone temporarily, usually while paying to do so. I will board with my aunt when I go to school in Adamsville. I do not wish to board with relatives.
