Exaggerated or magnified beyond the true scale or truth of the matter. It was just a minor tremor, not even a proper earthquake, but the media has it blown all out of proportion. These reports on the crime rate are blown out of proportion, if you ask me. No, it wasn't a big deal, but it's blown out of all proportion now because Louis took it personally, as usual.
