1. Money paid to a hired killer. Here's your blood money, all right? Just get the job done so that no one ever has to see that fool again! I bet the boss has already paid blood money to have that rat taken care of. Keep your blood money, pal—I'm not in that line of work anymore.
2. Money paid to the family of someone who has been murdered. That settlement is nothing more than blood money. It can't even begin to make up for our father's murder. What am I supposed to do with this blood money when it's just a constant reminder of all we've lost this year? What we really want is our mother back, not this blood money!
3. Money gained at the expense or suffering of others. I don't want this blood money! My mother worked herself to death making it! Many people consider the profits from conflict diamonds to be blood money. That CEO's palatial mansion was bought with blood money, courtesy of the children in sweatshops who make clothes for his company!
