block in

To prevent someone or something from moving from a certain spot. A noun or pronoun can be used between "block" and "in." I can't move my car because some jerk blocked me in! All these boxes are blocking in my tools at the back of the garage—I can't get to any of them. We need to move fast and block in the cat before she can escape again!

 and block (someone or something) in
to place an obstacle that prevents someone or something from getting out of something. I can't get out of my parking space. Someone blocked me in my space. Don't block in any of the other cars in the garage.
