A date between two people who have not previously met. Blind dates are terrifying because you don't know what the person will be like, but that's also part of the excitement. I'm not surprised my mom set up this blind date—she loves to meddle in my love life, even though I'm 30 years old! A: "How was your blind date last night?" B: "As it turned out, we actually had gone to the same high school! So we already kind of knew each other."

COMMON A blind date is an arrangement made for you to spend time with someone you have never met before to see if you would like to have a romantic relationship with them. My cousin met a man on a blind date and they went out for six years.
