between two fires
between two fires
Between two sources of conflict. When my dad joined my mom in criticizing me, I felt like I was caught between two fires. I'm caught between two fires here, so I can't comment publicly on the situation. What am I supposed to do here? I'm between two fires trying to represent the wants of the people to a disinterested leadership.
