1. To restore one's or someone else's youth. The doctor claims that her new non-invasive surgical procedure can beat back Father Time and restore years to one's features. She's been trying all sorts of pills and creams in an attempt to beat back Father Time. You'll never be able to beat back Father Time with all the partying, drinking, and late nights you engage in!
2. To perform and achieve success like one was able to do in one's youth, despite the advancement of one's age. Typically said of athletes. The aging quarterback is trying to beat back Father Time and show that he still has what it takes to win a championship. At the age of 30 and with a slumping batting average, the former star is at the point where he'll have to start beating back Father Time. It's amazing how the 35-year-old pitcher has been able to beat back Father Time and turn in an All-Star caliber season.
