be in the (full) flush of (something)

be in the (full) flush of (something)

To be wholly or deeply engaged in some state, situation, or experience. I know I'm smiling like a dope—I'm just in the full flush of glee after buying my very own home! I did plenty of reckless things when I was in the flush of youth, but I'm older and wiser now. Of course they're happy now, it's only been a few weeks! They're not in the full flush of marriage yet.
